Saved The Corps is Mother the Corps is Father, Endgame, and Deconstruction of Falling Stars.

I plan on copying more topics next weekend. Probably more in the Babylon 5 area and maybe start in Thugs R Us.

I have to say,re-reading our posts on the episodes has been alot of fun. some intersting questions are raised that are never answered

PATD XI is copied. Cosmic, emailed all the files I've copied to you. Hehehe, PATD XI has the Addams family invasion of the PATD. LOL! Had Cloney tied up and hanging over a burning barrel. Fester took over the bar and was making "festering ferns" for everyone. Pugsley blew up the piano while Lurch was playing. Someone smashed Valen's table to kindling.

    Question

Hey CT, have you posted the topics you saved anywhere? If so, can you give me the URL. If not could you email me some of them? I can handle a few at a time (like one topic at a time, especially the larger topics) I have started to put up some of the topics I have saved and would like to put up as many as I can while bored stiff at work during Spring Break.

Gang, this could be an incredible time-saver. I found this post at AS by a person whose web talents I deeply respect. Check out the freeware she's using to archive:

"Here's a great discovery - HTTrack - A great and free way to quickly archive Ancient Sites Forums.
You can set it up in 5 minutes and save 350 posts in about 20 minutes while out shoveling snow or eating dinner. Just remember to respect copyright; you may not repost anyone else's posts (or AS-owned material) without permission.

    Go to http://www.tucows.com
Go into the location nearest you and look for software downloads, offline browser.
Look for the freeware, HT Track (4 stars, 2.0mb)

HTTrack is an easy-to-use offline browser utility. It allows you to download a Web site from the Internet to a local directory, building recursively all directories, getting HTML, images and other files from the server to your computer.

HTTrack also arranges the original site's relative link-structure. Simply open a page of the mirrored Web site in your browser, and you can browse the site from link to link, as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack can also update an existing mirrored site, and resume interrupted downloads. HTTrack is fully configurable and has an integrated help system.

    Also available at: httrack.free.fr

Here's what I figured out so it worked fine:
Make a folder to which you want to download the forums you're saving.

Where asked, type the address of the starting page.

    Click on Set Options
    ----------

In Scan Rules, for Include Links, choose file extensions and type * or *.* for all file extensions. Otherwise AS's odd file extensions won't be recognized and forum pages won't be saved. I typed * and it was changed to *.*

In Limits, for Maximum Mirroring Depth choose 2, so that you will save the forum page and all posts on it but not everything on AS. Don't try for more than 2.

Other options I chose which worked fine:
Flow Control Number of Connections 10
    Retries 6
Links - I checked all but am not sure it's necessary as I don't know what linkchecking does.

    Choose Build site structure
    I left everything else alone.
    +++++++++++++

    Click NEXT
You do not want use remote connection if you are already online, because you don't need to dial up.
    Click FINISH.
Then go away and read a book for awhile or chat with your friends.
When you return you can view all the posts in the entire forum just as they were originally!

I've just saved about 2000 posts and five complete forums in the past 2 hours as well as my own and several other domus's complete with all web pages.

    It's great!"

    Absom!

I think saving Madame Twitchie's is a great idea. It's an important topic in the history of SFS/SFV.

Absom, let me know how you do, I've been losing brain cells trying to figure out why the software works fine at AS and won't copy the posts at SFS.
